Cricket Wireless - Terrible Service!!
I had wanted to add mobile hotspot to my phone as an option to connect my children's tablets to. It was a few days before the end of a billing cycle so I decided to add it at the start of the next cycle, otherwise I would have been charged for a month of mobile hotspot with only a few days use.
Looking at the plans I decided to upgrade from the 50/ADV plan I have had from the start of service with Cricket. That plan was a grandfathered plan that is no longer available. I selected the unlimited plan to start with the new cycle but when I went to the add-on features the website said I had to wait until the plan changed as I was only allowed to make one change per a cycle.
The morning of the new billing cycle my plan updated and I went on the website. My phone is not eligible for mobile hotspot!!! Called Cricket to speak with customer service for help.
By the end of the call I was not pleased at all. If I had stayed with my old plan then I would have been allowed to add mobile hotspot. With the new plan that just started hours before I called them, my phone is no longer eligible for mobile hotspot unless I were to upgrade and purchasea new device. They said they would contact Samsung and send a request with my information to add mobile hotspot. I asked how long that would be and they said they were not sure, it could be 2 weeks, a month, or longer!!!!
I am highly disatisfied with this service! There is nothing wrong with my phone and I do not wish to upgrade it. I now paid more money for a plan I only chose for more data to use with mobile hotspot. I will be looking into getting a new carrier as I feel that makes no sense. If I had not upgraded my plan then my phone would have had mobile hotspot.
Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Contacting Samsung is a load of garbage they're feeding you they control the apps whether they turn on or off your hotspot. I would recommend checking Google Play Store for options that work without rooting your phone they work do you want to pay them I think your money would be better spent for paying for the apps rather than paying cricket.
